Recently, several evens in my life have made me realize exactly how lazy I have been over the past few years. My chronic pain has been a convenient excuse to avoid responsibility and while I still am limited in what I can do physically, I have complete control over my mental capacities and I am able to do what God needs me to do. This was our families first video devotional without toys. The boys really learned a lot about the characters because they had to portray them as illustrated in the Bible. We let them write their scripts and assemble their costumes on their own.
This is one of our Garner Family Video devotionals. We have our family devotional by reading the scripture and talking about it, then for additional impact, we create a short video about the scripture. We allow the kids to be a little silly, but they must convey the message behind the story.For this past Christmas, we did the birth of Baby Jesus. The boys all worked together to make the set and decorate it. Then they got their stuffed animals and assigned roles. I helped with props, set-up, video and editing. Trina did the reading (since her voice is much more pleasant to listen to than mine).
