So, during Christmas, I’m trying to think of ways to encourage my online aquaintances that do not require they log off to enjoy my gift.
If you have an online friend or family member, try one of these top five online gifts this year:
1. Goozex Gift Card (http://goozex.com/trading/asp/gifts.asp)
The ultimate in game trading sites, Goozex offeres a huge variety of tradable games. Think of it as GameFly… except that you keep the games. I’ve been using this service for over a year now, and I’ve gotten some of my favorite games from this site.
2. Netflix Gift Subscription (http://www.netflix.com/GiftPurchase)
For all lovers of TV and film, Netflix has an ever growing library of “Watch Instantly” movies that can be viewed right in your web browser. We have a laptop hooked up ot our main big screen tv and we watch TV shows and some really great movies whenever we want.
3. Steam Games (http://store.steampowered.com/)
My second favorite gaming site, Steam has pioneered the download delievery system and their games are among the most popular in the PC game industry. My top favorites right now are Team Fortress 2 and Left4Dead. Plus, with the Steam network, you will often have online buddies to beat up.
4. RiffTrax Gift Certificate (http://www.rifftrax.com/goodies/gift-e-certificate)
The masters behind Mystery Science Theater 3000 have formed their own riffing service! It’s the same great writing and voices, but now they are making fun of current movies! The site has plenty of samples and I can asure you that the Jurassic Park rifftrax (featuring Weird Al) is probably the best in the library. You can choose from audio only, or you can pay extra and download the movie with the rifftrax audio already embedded.
5. eBay Gift Card (http://giftcard.ebay.com/)
True, this is not orignal, but face it: Everyone can find SOMETHING they want on eBay. I gave my brother one last year and he had a blast looking for all the cool stuff he never knew was out there.
