My 60 Best PC Games (for $5 or less)

Goozex

If you have read my ramblings regarding online game services before, you will remember my deep love and appreciation for Goozex; an online game trading service that allows you to spend points to acquire used games.

Since my first love is PC gaming, it’s only natural that I would spend most of my on-site time browsing the thousands of available computer games. I look on with fond memories as I scroll past many of them. Yet, with limited points in my account, it’s hard to really pick between so many. But since 100 points on Goozex is worth exactly $5.00, it’s not hard to pick up more than one.

So here’s my pick of The 60 Best PC Games for 100 Points along with some brief explanations of each. (I did not pick expansions, games that you could get for free elsewhere, or games that I have not played.)

1. Aliens vs Predator 2 Gold – Why: Classic gameplay!
An older game with some older graphics, but the gameplay is just as fun as ever. You can choose to play as marine, alien or predator each with unique game modes. For example, as an alien, you can climb walls and sneak up behind marines for a quick snack. If you choose alien, you actually start out as a face-hugger in dire need of a face to hug. And if you play as marine, you can look forward to jumping out of your seat everytime a face-hugger jumps at you. Classic gaming!

2. Armed Forces Collection – Why: Value gaming!
This is actually a pack of four military games:Armored Fist, F-16, Delta Force 2, and Comanche 4. Technically, I’ve only played two of these games (Delta Force 2 and Comanche 4) but those two alone are worth 100 points. Think of this as four great, classic military games for 25 points each.

3. Baldur’s Gate 2 Collection – Why: Classic RPG!
Baldur’s Gate was one of the first role playing games that turned my head since the original Bard’s Tale series back in the 80’s. It’s classic DnD role playing goodness with dated graphics. But if you can get past the pixels, you’re in for some history making RPG purity.

4. Battlefield 1942 – Why: Multiplayer fun!
One of the first team-based shooters I ever played. My gaming clan would spend hours each night playing BF1942 and we never got sick of it. Plus, with user-created mods and official add-on packs, this is probably one of the better shooters for 100 points on Goozex.

5. Battlefield Vietnam Redux – Why: Multiplayer fun!
Ditto! Take everything great about BF1942 and set it in the Vietnam war. Add helicopters and new weapons and other vehicles, and you’ve got another great team-based shooter.

6. Call of Duty 2 (GotY) – Why: Intense action!
Call of Duty 2 make a mark on my by expecting more out of my skills. The first time I played, I was frustrated by the reality and intensity of it. It was almost TOO realistic for me. But when I came back to it, I realized that if I polished my skills a bit and paid attention, this game took me on the ride of a lifetime. It does have some dated graphics, but it has really aged well and still holds a place among the top shooters in the world.

7. Chuzzle – Why: Casual puzzler!
Created by PopCap Games (known for highly addictive and absurdly cute puzzle games), Chuzzle still tickles me whenever I play it. You must move colorful furry tribble-like balls around to make matching sets. The sounds and graphics were so dazzling that I would have fun just watching my wife play. For 100 points, this is a MUST OWN!

8. Clive Barker’s Undying – Why: Classic horror!
Again with dated graphics, but come Holloween, I always reinstall this little gem and have a blast. Imagine a shooter that gives you magic spells as weapons and puts you in a creepy funhouse like Disney’s Haunted Mansion. I enjoy this more for the ‘walking-araound-a-spooky-manor’ than the actual gameplay. But still, this is from a time when horrow games were more point and click. At least this let’s you shoot undead monsters!

9. Codename Panzers (Commander’s Edition) – Why: Engaging war game!
Contains 2 great games: Codename Panzers Phase One and Phase Two. Codename Panzers set itself apart in the WWII strategy realm by removing the base-building and resource gathering and focusing on the units. When you go into battle, you sometime choose which units to bring. Your choices have a huge impact on your strategy and your available options. The graphics really hold up nice over time and the explosions are still impressive. Each of these games is worth 100 points alone, but together? This is WWII gold!

10. Command & Conquer Generals – Why: Intense strategy game!
There are a few C&C games on Goozex for 100 points, but by far Generals is the most graphical polished and strategically immersive. If you have never played C7C or even real time strategy games, you own it to yourself to slap 100 points down. Generals is still being played competitvely around the world for cash prizes. The sounds and graphics aged very well, the game is chellenging yet easy for new players to pick up. For 100 points, you cannot find a better RTS. There. I said it.

11. Descent 3 – Why: Amazing space shooter!
The original Descent rocked the gaming world with it’s full 360 degrees of freedom in all three axises. Think of a shooter in which you can fly, hover, spin around in the air and swoop down on unsuspecting robots. It was so revolutionary at the time, some players even got physically sick from the experiance. Descent 2 is by far the best of the series, but the graphics are VERY dated and difficult to get around. Descent 3 offers the excitment of Descent 2, with much improved graphics and sound, and the added bonus of outside levels. If you can get past the graphics, D2 is a better choice. But if you want your game to look amazing as you have fun flying, soaring and blasting robots, D3 is for you.

12. Deus Ex:Invisible War – Why: Great RPG/Shooter hybred!
Deus Ex (pronounced ‘DAY-uss EX’) set a high bar for role playing shooters. Invisible War meets that bar, with much improved graphics. You play as a military agent sent to uncover a national threat after a terrorist attack. Set in the future, you have the option to augment your abilities with nanites to increase your computer skills, lockpicking, weapon handling and over a dozen more abilities. The game follows a story but you make decisions along the way that not only shape your character skills but also change the ending of the game. A great shooter for 100 points.
(UPDATE: A few faithful Goozex fans were quick to point out to me that the original Deus Ex, also available for 100 points, was considered a much better game than the sequel. I stand by my pick, but feel free to pick up the original also and decide for yourself.)

13-14. Diablo and Diablo 2 – Why: Classic hack ‘n slasher!
I couldn’t pick my favorite between these two, so I picked them both. The graphics are VERY old and pixelated, but as a hack ‘n slash game, it’s easy to get past the look. The gameplay was so much fun; killing monsters, picking up loot, modifying inventory then killing more monsters! It was a deep couple of games with hundreds of items, weapons and mods to find and the ability to craft your own weapons. It set the bar for hack ‘n slash rpgs.

15. Disciples 2 Gold – Why: Turn-based fantasy fun!
I’m not normally into fantasy games, but I love a good turn-based game. This game allows you to build your kingdom, raise armies, recruit heroes, discover new spells, claim land, vanquish monsters, and overthrow opponent kingdoms. A very deep and rich game with some dated graphics which are pretty easy to ignore. The Gold version gives you access to two expansion packs which almost triples the game length. A great value for fantasy lovers!

16. Drome Racers – Why: Fun LEGO racer!
I played LEGO Racer with my sons and we loved it. But as we grew, our taste in racers grew. The developers of LEGO Drome Racers anticipated this and made a fun family racer that has as much depth and challenge as it does charm. It plays great with a gamepad and the graphics are still slick. If you have kids or you are a kid at heart, this is 100 points well spent!

17. Flatout 2 – Why: Fun racer!
I’m a huge fan of Burnout on the consoles. But I could not find a fun PC racer that feed my love of crashing… until Flatout. Flatout 2 has improved graphics, more cars and tracks and a much needed stunt mode. The fun with this game is the more you abuse your car, the more it effects your driving. EX: If your front left side gets smashed up, the car will pull to the left. Plus, in demolition derby, you crash into other cars and try to survive to be the last one standing. Great crashing fun for 100 points!

18. Freedom Force – Why: Superhero RPG!
I love this game! It drips with style and cheeze that you can’t help but smile and even laugh as you play. The announcer is stright out of the 80’s Saturday morning cartoons and the writing is classic comic melodrama. The fun part is the gameplay that allows you to pause the game, view the situation from any angle, and command your superheros to use their powers to combat villians. A truly unique game and a must own for any superhero fan!

19. Freelancer – Why: Classic space sim!
One of the few games I became so addicted to that I was forced to give it up in favor of my sanity. You play as Trent, a young space pilot with your first ship and the galaxy awaiting you. Through the story, you make new friends, uncover a conspiracy, forge alliances and even save the gaxaly (or at least a large chunck of it) from destruction. But the real fun was the multiplayer aspect. You could log onto servers and hook up with other players to form clans and battle rival clans for glory and honor… years before the term MMO was even coined. Plus, the game controls are super easy and the graphics still look very impressive!

20. Ghost Master – Why: Unique sim-clone!
I found this little game on Goozex and decided to give it a try. MAN! What a find! You play as a ‘ghost master,’ a sort of warlord of the afterlife. Your job is to use an special team of ghosts to haunt humans and acomplish goals. Think of it as ‘The Sims 2: Haunted Houses.’ The fun is in deciding how to scare the people into doing your bidding. Do you have a wailer ghost moan and create fog, do you send a jinxer into a nearby television and make it jump around the room, or do you put a poultrygeist on one of the kids and make blood follow them into every room? It is pure, sadistic fun and I love every minute of it!

21. Gun – Why: Wild West shooter!
Great game, good story, fair graphics and a fun ‘quick draw’ feature that let’s you get a bead on a particular bad guy. Gun is one of those unique shooters. Set in the late 1800’s, you must discover your late father’s secret while taking out bandits, saving the lovly ladies of a brothel and bringing crooked law men to justice. For 100 points, it’s a wild ride through the wild west.

22. Heavy Gear 2 – Why: Classic mech combat!
Oh, baby! Mech games are my weakness and this had me wrapped around it’s finger for months! Set in a far-future universe created by pen-n-paper games developer Dream Pod 9, Heavy Gear puts you in the role of a gear pilot in a deadly civil war. (A ‘gear’ is not as big as a battlemech from MechWarrior, but much more manuverable.) You select your gear and take on various missions ranging from search and rescue to seek and destroy to defend point A, then make it to point B. The unique features that set Heavy Gear apart from other mech games is the size, speed and manuverablity of the gears. They have retractable skates that allow them to zip through city streets with ease and they can duck and cover just like a marine. Some say the original Heavy Gear (based on the MechWarrior 2 engine) was the best, but HG2 uses a completely different engine which I think is much better. Among my favorite missions are the zero-gravity fights which have you spinning in space looking for something to grab, while blasting rival gears into dust. Classic mech combat!

23-24. Homeworld (GotY Edition) and Homeworld 2 – Why: Unqiue sci-fi strategy!
A unique entry into the real time strategy genre, Homeworld is set in deep space with music that is just as gorgeous as the breathtaking nebula surrounding you. You are able to move your units in all directions… even Z axis… as you combat oppsing fleets of ships on your search for a better world. I see it as a simplified version of Sins of a Solar Empire. Vast space, cool ships and strategic depth… a must for sci-fi fans!

25. Hulk – Why: Hulk, Smash!
This is not the best Hulk game ever made, but by far the best one you can get for 100 points. You play as Bruce Banner in a few missions, but mainly as the green giant himself. This game is based more on a unique story rather than the movie. It simply has some voices from the movie… but the plot is pure original. The graphics have aged very well and the game plays great on a gamepad. My kids love playing this and throwing tanks around. Don’t expect much from the story, but it’s a wild ride of a comic game for the price.

26. Icewind Dale(The Collection) – Why: Classic RPG!
See Baldur’s Gate. Icewind Dale is the follow-up to the classic D&D game Baldur’s Gate. Very similar look and feel, so the graphics are also a bit dated. But these games are valued more for their role playing experiance than their looks. If you allow yourself to enjow the blocky pixels, you will find a very deep and rich story here. A must have for rpg fans.

27. KISS Psycho Circus – Why: Fun shooter!
Here’s another game I only install during Halloween… Psycho Circus is a mature comic book in game form. You play as one of four elemental heroes (the four members of KISS) and must travel the land, vanquishing monsters in an attempt to stop the Nightmare Child from enslaving the world in darkness. The twist on this game is that as you progress through the game’s four worlds, your character will acquire better armor and weapons. The worlds themselves are like circus playgrounds from your nightmares. Even though the game has older graphics and sound effects, the game world is still impressive to view and play in. Don’t expect the REAL members of KISS or more than one of their songs… this game is based on the comic that is based on the band.

28-29. LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Star Wars 2 – Why: Pure fun!
Traveler’s Tales has done an amazing job with all the LEGO games and Star Wars is probably their best to date. Filled with plenty of charm and innocence for the younger players, but with challenge and depth for mature gamers also. I found myself just as addicted to these games as my son was. For 100 points, these are probably the best family friendly games you can get on Goozex!

30. MechCommander 2 – Why: Mech strategy!
If you like robots and strategy, you have found your game! Based on the Battletech universe, you play ass a mechcommander sitting in your control bunker miles from the battlefield. You control a team of highly trained mechwarriors in their giant machines. Base building is out, which allows you to spend more time on strategy and deployment options. Between missions, you salvage equipment and mechs, hire pilots, purchase weapons, customize your mechs, level up your warriors, and hand pick your team. Spend points on a mechwarrior’s long range skills and then assign her to pilot one of your long range mechs and watch the damage she deals! Almost endless options for customization!

31-32. MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries and MechWarrior 4: Vengance – Why: Mech combat!
I’ve always been a fan of the MechWarrior games, and 4 is by far the best! Even though the graphics are still a bit old, the game holds up very well! In Vengance, you are part of a resistance against the Steiner forces that have invaded your worlds. You must fight to reclaim your home and drive Katrina and her forces away for good. In Mercenaries, you play as Specter, a mercenary leader in charge of a small team of mechwarriors for hire. You have some choice over available missions and you could spend most of your time in arena battles. Both MechWarrior 4 games have expansions and user-made content which adds to the game length and depth. Fans of giant robot action apply here!

33. Movies, The (Premiere Edition) – Why: Sims-like movie tycoon!
Honestly, I’m not a big fan of sim-type games. But I’m a huge fan of the movie industry. The Movies allows you to take the role of a movie mogule begining in the late 1930’s. You hire actors, writers, crew and purchase sets. You also manage your movie lot by building departments, shaping the landscape, placing trailers and plants, and making your area attractive to all. It’s a unique twist on sim games, but a great diversion for movie fans.

34. Neverwinter Nights (Diamond Edition) – Why: Epic D&D!
Probably one of the more content-rich D&D games ever made. Dozens of official modules released and hundreds of user-made modules and adventures mean the replay value is unbelievably high. Somewhat outdated graphics, but still attractive. One of the coolest features of NWN is the ability to network a bunch of online players together with one player acting as a game master who leads the party through an adventure. The game master (or Dungeon Master) can spawn characters, items, doors, creatures and anything else that the heroes might encounter. Plus with a built-in editor, you can always try your hand at module creation. An amazing value for rpg fans!

35. Oni – Why: Great anime action!
Another unquie 3rd person shooter. this one is in the style of Japanese anime and has some very impressive in-game abilities. You can either fire on your enemies in typical shooter fashion, or you can close in and take them down hand-to-hand style… which allows you to perform cool moves. One move is running upto your opponent, jumping and turning in mid air as you kick his face, which causes you to swing around his head and snap his neck. Sick! It may have a cartoony look and feel, but this is not one for kids.

36. Prey – Why: Logic-breaking shooter!
Simply mind-blowing! I first tried the demo of this game and within an hour, I rushed to the nearest store and paid full price for this… which is something I rarely do. You just have to play this game to understand. You take on the reluctant role of Tommy, a young native American whose girlfriend, town and entire world soon gets sucked into a massive alien vessel. You set out on a quest inside a bizare ship searching for your grandfather and girlfriend and end up taking on the entire alien race. The most amazing thing about this game are some of the physic effects and disorientating portals. (This game came out months before Valve’s Portal game was released.) When you step through a portal, you may end up on the ceiling clinging to the walls, or you may end up three inches tall running around a scale model of the moon. Also, your character has the special ability to ’spiritwalk’ or enter into the spirit world where certain paths become opened and objectives become posible. I could write much more about this game. Just go get it… now!

37. Prince of Persia: Sands of Time – Why: Great adventure!
Considered by many to be the best in the entire PoP series, Sands of Time has the prince searching after a mystical dagger that can alter the fabric of time. Once in possesion of it, your character can temporarily stop and reverse time, allowing you to re-attempt that tricky move that nearly killed you. The graphics and production value is still strong despite it’s age and the game play is just as fun as it was when it was the newest thing on the shelf. good story and fun action for 100 points.

38. Quake 4 (Special DVD Edition) – Why: Intense shooter!
You play as a marine in charge of invading the alien homeworld that caused so much devastation in Quakes 1 through 3. The action and intensity have been significantly ramped up this time around and the graphics do a great job keeping up. Not the best shooter by a long shot, but certainly one of the better ones for 100 points. And the DVD edition contains the original Quake 2 game plus expansions. Value added!

39. Railroad Tycoon 3 – Why: Sandbox with trains!
Build a railroad empire that stretches from coast to coast as you research new engines, forge new trade routes, construct new towns and even play the stock market. But the real gem here is the sandbox mode that let’s you build free style without time or money restrictions. A nice 3d engine makes the game refreshing and attractive even by today’s standards. The best in the series… for 100 points!

40. Resident Evil 4 – Why: Great horror!
I played this on the Wii and while there are subtle differences, this is still a great game for the price. I was new to the series when I picked this up and I had no problem getting into the story or controls. An exciting and nail-biting adventure through zombie-infested lands. Remember to aim for the head!

41. Restaurant Empire – Why: Cooking tycoon!
I found this in a bargan bid and got it out of bizare curiousity. But this game was a pleasant surprise. The graphics are a bit old, but the gameplay makes up for it. You must design, construct and furnish your restaurant as well as decide the menu and hire the staff. As your customers sample your meals, you learn what food and atmosphere are popular in a certain area of town. I like the fact that all the meals are real receipes. not a lot of depth here, but a fun divertion for food fans.

42. RoboForge – Why: Programmer’s game!
Another specialty game… this one is strictly for programmers. You custom build robots from parts and control points. Once constructed, you must then program them with an AI (artificial inteligence) that will be put into battle against other robots. You must tell your robot to look for the opponent, move, strike, and defend… but none of these commands are simple. You can either pick from a drag-n-drop interface or hand code your creation alone. Either way, you actually send your coded robot into battle against other creations by real users from around the world. A very unique and interesting game and one that requires a basc understanding of programming to enjoy.

43. Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 Gold – Why: Sandbox amusement parks!
Another fun family title! You can either build an amusment park from the ground up, or (playing the campaign) take an existing park and improve it by adding rides, hiring workers, setting prices, designing firework shows and even placing food and bathroom at strtegic spots. This is another great sandbox game allowing you to build to your heart’s desire without time or money concerns. Plus, you can actually ride every ride in the park from a first person view. If you are REALY ambitious, try designing your own roller coaster and see if it excites customers without making them sick.

44. Rome: Total War – Why: Epic civilization strategy!
I became lost in this game for over a month. Total War is a truly unique series combining the turn-based conquest of Civilization with the real-time strategy of a standard war game. You establish cities, construct buildings, raise armies, send diplomats into enemy teritory, sail ships across the seas and lay seige to fortifications. The real time battles are amazing to watch and literally involve hundreds of units and character animations. An epic game of conquest and military domination!

45. Sacred – Why: Great hack ‘n slasher!
A great little overlooked game in the style of Diablo. The advantage here is that this game has improved graphics and more starting character options. The world is wide open for exploration and there are more items, loot and other drops than you can shake a dark elf at. If you loved Diablo 1 and 2 and can’t wait for Diablo 3, THIS is your fix!

46. Soldiers: Heroes of World War II – Why: Intense war strategy!
The intensity of this game comes not from vast armies, but rather the opposite. You control a small team of WWII soldiers. You are taks with small goals such as taking an occupied town or defending a bridge. But the realism and difficulty make for some very challenging missions. I found it imposible to storm a twon of Nazis with my team of five heroes. Instead, I was forced to tactically decide how to pick off the bad guys one at a time until I was able to take control of an enemy tank. But even then, it still didn’t make my job much easier. If you are a WWII fan and disappointed by the lack of realism and intensity in other strategy games, here’s where your next 100 points should go.

47. Sonic Heroes – Why: Great family fun!
Continuing the tradition of family friendly games from the Sonic team, Heroes places three characters under your control; a runner, a flyer and a fighter. You shift between the three characters on the fly as you progress through colorful worlds and challenging foes. Not the best in the series, but the graphics hold up very well and the game plays great on a gamepad. One of my sons favorite games… and only 100 points!

48. Space Rangers 2: Rise of the Dominators – Why:Unparalleled variety!
PC Gamer had nothing but high praise for this game so naturally I gave it a shot. They were absolutely right! The game is a turn-based sci-fi rpg with a huge… let me retype that… HUGE variety of missions and quests to complete. In one sitting I fought off pirates, explored an uncharted world, discovered an alien device and sold it to the highest bidder, delivered several messgaes, competed in a pizza baking contest, created killer robots, destroyed an enemy outpost in real time glory and even smuggled illegal weapons. And that was just in an hour or so. Great game, good graphics, amazing value, fun space rpg! Get it!

49. Spider-Man 2 – Why: Superhero sandbox!
Probably the best Spider-Man game on the PC. in SM2, the entire city of New York is your playground to swing around and kick bad guy butt. You can follow the plot and face off against some challenging foes, or you can swing to your own web and take on missions you prefer. Great controls and good graphics help this game hold up to today’s standards. A must own for Spidey fans!

50. Spider-Man: Friend or Foe – Why: Superhero fun for the family!
Aimed more for the kid crowd, Friend or Foe is a fun hack-n-slash with Spidey and some of his best villians-turned-allies. In the game, an alien influence has taken control of the cities villians forcing them to serve a higher purpose. As Spidey, you must release each of them from the alien clutches whcih makes them grateful/angry enough to temporarily join your cause in an effor tto take down the aliens for good. The violence consists of beating holographic robots up enough to pop them into bursts of light. My middle sons LOVES this game and his friends come over and play for hours.

51. Star Wars Battlefront 2 – Why: Fun team-based shooter.
The success of Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield 2 inspired LacusArts to try their hand at team-based shooters. SW:BF2 introduced a few imporvements over the first version including space battles, light sabers and the ability to play as heroes and villians from the movies. As you earn kills in game, you earn points which allow you to temporarily play as major characters such as Yoda, Dart Vader or Luke Skywalker. The game covers all six movies and includes several game play types. Star Wars fans have found their shooter!

52. Star Wars Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast – Why: Great story… and light sabers!
Jedi Outcast has slightly dated graphics and sound effects, but has alot of gameplay fun for the price. You play as Kyle, a mercenary hired by the rebelion to investigate an incident in the Valley of the Lost Jedi. Along the way, you gain Jedi abilties and make decisions which decide if your abilities fall on the dark or light side. Multiplay is a blast with the ability to create your own character, choose your light saber color, and roam around some familiar Star Wars stomping grounds as you slash up your surroundings and friends.

53. Star Wars: Empire at War – Why: Unique sci-fi strategy!
Considered the best Star Wars strategy game ever, Empire at War has an epic feel and engaging features. You can control land units or space units as you set up control bases on key planets across the galaxy. Keep an eye on your galactic map and watch out for enemies getting close to your controlled planets. Send smuggers and droids to steal technology from your opponent planets. Send waves of fighters into battle and watch mighty capital ships explode and fall out of orbit in dazzling style! An amazing games for 100 points!

54. StarCraft – Why: Classic sci-fi strategy!
The success of WarCraft lead Blizzard into the sci-fi verse with StarCraft. Still played by many around the world in tournaments and cash compititions, StarCraft is considered by many to be the undisputed king of real time strategy even over Command and Conquer. The graphics are extremely old and out of place by today’s standards, but the game continues to challenge and inspire millions of players. A historic entry into the world of sci-fi strategy!

55. Totally Unreal – Why: Classic shooter value!
Unreal set an incredibly high bar for shooters when it was released with a unique game engine that actually scaled very well depending on the system. if your machine was not beefy enough to handle the game, no problem. the game scaled down it’s graphic bells and whistles and still ran smooth as butter regardless of your system. It was an amazing way to get players with different system speeds into the same game at the same time. Totally Unreal contains an expansion pack, a few mods and even the multiplayer shooter Unreal Tournament. Unreal was the entry for many shooter fans including myself and this is a peice of great gaming history!

56. TRON 2.0 – Why: Unique shooter!
Remember the old TRON movie with Jeff Bridges? No? Well, aside from some character relations, this game has very little to do with the movie. Set after the events of the movie, you play a young game programmer that gets digitized and sucked into the computer programming world of TRON. The game retains the look and feel of the movies but with some decieded improvements to graphics and action. There are some challenging levels here including a light cycle level that took me hours to beat. (In light cycles, if you cross the light path of any other cycle, you die. You and a dozen other cycles are placed on a very small grid and made to fend for your selves.) This is certainly a unique shooter and probably geared more for fans of the movie. But still a fun game for 100 points!

57. Ultimate Spider-Man – Why: Great comic book fun!
Written by the author of several successful Spider-Man books, Ultimate has a much more comic book feel and even throws in some other Marvel characters as cameos. (EX: In one mission, you must beat the Human Torch in a race around New York city.) This is one of the better written Spider-Man stories in years and certainly one of the better comic book games in years. Another ‘MUST OWN’ for Spidey fans!

58. Unreal Tournament 2004: Special Edition – Why: THE best multiplayer game of all time!
The absolute, hands down, BEST GAME you can get for 100 points! Period! I have been playing this game since it appeared in late 2003… and I am still in love with it! Probably the best sci-fi team-based shooter ever created. Much like it’s namesake, UT2K4 scales amazingly well regardless of the system speed. It’s just as buttery smooth on my Pentium 3 as it is on my AMD Quad Core! A huge variety of game modes, options, characters and weapons, and more user-created maps and mods than you could ever dream of! Get a few copies of this game, put it on every PC you own and invite your friends to sit down for an old fashion LAN party. Endless multiplayer mahyem! The best game 100 points can buy!

59. Vampire: The Masquerade – Redemption – Why: Neck biting rpg!
An older game but I still have fond memories of this one. You play as a vampire from the 1600’s. In true role playing form, you forge relationships, join secret societies, fight evil temptations, conduct shady business, eat people… ok, it’s a bit sadistic. but a very clever and engaging game for fang fans.

60. Z: Steel Soldiers – Why: Classic robot strategy!
One of the oldest games on this list, and the graphics prove it. But Z was one of the first robot-only strategy games of it’s time. A unique game of capture the control points with beer-drinking, foul-mouthed mahcines. Makes me think of Futurama’s Bender! Not for everyone, but a classic in the robot strategy genre.
